This vineyard was first planted in 1845 by the Baron of Seixo, and was later acquired by the Afonso Cabral family, who in turn sold it to the Messias family in 1956. The grape varieties planted are naturally the traditional ones of the region, suitable for producing both Port wine and wine with the Douro Designation of Origin.
