Despite their involvement in various business areas related to the beverage industry, it was the discovery of new worlds that motivated them to invest in creating a unique, entirely natural and artisanal product, which they felt was lacking in the market. In 2017, the licensing process for gin production began, along with the necessary construction and layout of the distillery, including the laboratory, the choice of the type of still to be used, storage tanks, water reuse system, etc. The distillery, covering only about 70 square meters, is based on 2 small stills with 6 glass reflux columns each, resulting in a distilled product with a high degree of purity and free of methanol, guaranteeing the consumer the absence of this harmful effect on health, which can be felt both the day after consuming a few glasses and throughout an individual's life. The first bottles arrived on the market at the end of 2020, initially only for export. In May 2021, with the final image refined, sales began in Portugal, with a greater focus on Aveiro, where it was received with great appreciation by the most demanding local connoisseurs. In September 2021, promotion began in the Algarve, through the great and iconic partner Garrafeira Rui, whom Gin Exceptional congratulates on the success of the work being developed. In March 2022, the very strong distributor Castro e Linhares welcomed Exceptional Gin into its portfolio, enhancing its territorial presence in the northern region. Soon the Exceptional Gin family will grow to other cities, according to the growth capacity based on the sustainability of the work to be developed. Exceptional Gin contains 28 botanicals and spices in its composition, some of which are macerated at controlled temperatures in alcohol produced through a distillation process using approximately 85% rice and 15% wheat.
