However, several events that occurred in the second half of the 19th century, notably the appearance of powdery mildew in 1852 and shortly afterwards phylloxera in 1872, vine diseases, resulted in serious damage to the vineyards of the region and, as a consequence, led to the consolidation of the family's assets into a company in 1913, which later, in 1925, began exporting its products.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n \u003cp\u003eThe last of the Henriques family passed away in 1968, and the company was then handed over to his closest collaborators and friends. The company has maintained the tradition of passing on both its knowledge and technological systems to subsequent generations to this day.\u003cbr\u003e\n In addition to being a producer and exporter, H\u0026amp;H is also the only company that owns its own vineyards, resulting in the production of extremely high-quality grapes, notably the Verdelho and Terrantez varieties, which allows it to control production from cultivation to harvest. On the other hand, it also acquires grapes from various winegrowers with whom it maintains a close and long-standing relationship.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n \u003cp\u003eIn 1992, Henriques \u0026amp; Henriques began an expansion program and invested in the construction of a new aging cellar in the parish of Câmara de Lobos, where its headquarters and commercial space are also located.
