He became known for his uninterrupted and uncompromising fight for democracy and against the dictatorship.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n \u003cp\u003eIt was through the efforts of João de Deus Martins Antunes de Almeida, who succeeded to owning the farm, that the farm was converted to vineyard cultivation and wine production, breaking with traditional techniques and methods.
