Description

A story that takes us to the year 1808.

During the second French Invasion of Portugal, the people of the current region of Boticas, afraid that their valuable belongings would be looted, hid what they found, including the wine, which was buried on the floor of the cellars, under the barrels and in the presses. .

Later, when they recovered their precious possessions, they discovered that the wine had acquired unusual properties. A wine with low alcohol content and some gas, the result of the natural fermentation process during the period it was buried and whose conservation benefited from the constant temperature and absence of light. Because it was buried, the wine received the name Wine of the Dead. The tradition continues to this day, being a living history of the town of Boticas.
