Altas Quintas is the realization of producer Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o's dream of making, in Alentejo, nothing less than great wines, which are a challenge for demanding wine lovers.
\nIn this quest for perfection, it has been established in Serra de S\u00e3o Mamede since the 90s.<\/p>\n
Driven by these objectives, he looked for ideal conditions for the project in Alentejo.
\nThese conditions were found in the middle of Serra de S\u00e3o Mamede (Portalegre), 600 meters above sea level.
\nThere are records of wine production in this emblematic region since the 15th century (Epoch of Discoveries).
\nThe grape varieties that make up Altas Quintas wines are:
\nThe reds Aragonez, Trincadeira, Alicante Bouschet, Syrah, Touriga Nacional and Cabernet Sauvignon;
\nAnd the white ones, Verdelho, Arinto and Fern\u00e3o Pires.<\/p>\n
Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o quickly realized that this location allowed him to make a difference.<\/p>\n
The altitude, unique in Alentejo, immediately creates several differentiating factors:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Soil characteristics;
\n\u2022 The microclimate of this plateau, with milder temperatures and rainfall
\ndifferent from the rest of Alentejo.<\/p>\n

Est\u00e1gio: Est\u00e1gio em barricas de Carvalho Franc\u00eas durante 12 meses, seguindo-se posteriormente o engarrafamento.<\/p>\n
Vinho de cor rubi intensa, aromas bem definidos onde
\npredominam os frutos vermelhos maduros e algumas notas de cacau e menta.
\nNa boca presenta-se com excelente equlibrio e eleg\u00e2ncia, entre taninos bem maturados e acidez viva e fresca, termina persistente , firme, mas com excelente harmonia.
\nIt can accompany oven-baked dishes or dishes with some complexity in preparation.
\nA serving temperature of 16 oC is recommended.<\/p>\n
