Porto Noval LBV Unfiltered 2011 75cl

55,00

This wine is a notable example of the Noval style. It is treated exactly the same as Vintage Port Wine: it comes only from noble grape varieties from the Quinta, grapes trodden by foot and is not filtered. What distinguishes it is the fact that it ages four or five years in barrels, instead of two years like Vintage Port. It is undoubtedly a distinct LBV, with very well-structured tannins, great freshness and purity of fruit. It's delicious to drink now, but will age beautifully in the bottle.

Description

Quinta do Noval benefits from a privileged location, in the heart of the Douro.
The 145-hectare vineyard, fully classified as letter A, is planted with the Douro's most noble grape varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão and Sousão.
The vineyard plots have a rich geographic diversity.
. altitude: from 100m to 500m
. Exposure: to all cardinal points
. soil: shale with clay fragments, variable mixture
These characteristics give the wines different nuances depending on their plot of origin. The magic of Quinta do Noval wines is born from the fusion of these nuances.

Currently, vineyards are replanted with a single variety adapted to each individual plot according to three main factors: altitude, exposure and the type of vineyard planting.
The magnificent ancient schist stone terraces continue to be the image of Quinta do Noval.
Quinta do Noval is the only historical exporter of Port wine named after its Quinta, and which produces Vintage Port from a single parcel, when declared.
