In 1994, three of the sons of the Meireles Family, Frederico, Afonso and Manuel, winemaker, agricultural technician and military officer, respectively, decided to boost the family's small agricultural holding located in the Douro in Beira Grande-Carrazeda de Ansiães, they understood that with the “house silver ” met the conditions to carry out a motivating project in the wine sector. And that's what happened.
That year, they restructured the small Adega da Família, used the mills to make red wines and equipped the winery with modern technology for the production of white wines. The results were quick, in the first harvest, 1995, in the 1st Casa do Douro Competition - they achieved first place in whites and a second in reds, since then their wines, namely Grambeira Branco, have achieved a place of reference in the region.
