Description
Inserted in the historic Dão Region, in the village of Prime, parish of Fragosela, neighboring the city of Viseu, it is an extensive property of approximately 70 hectares that develops from the bank of the Dão River.
The vineyard, partially regrafted and expanded through new plantings, currently occupies an area of 25 hectares dedicated to the Touriga Nacional and Sauvignon Blanc grape varieties, with an additional eight hectares of vineyard planned to be planted. Located at approximately 380 meters above sea level, with unique microclimatic conditions, the property benefits from the proximity of the Dão River, excellent exposure and high quality granite sand soils, also known as “rotten granite” or “noble granite” soils. .
With a narrow planting schedule, traditional sustainable viticulture is practiced, avoiding the use of herbicides as much as possible, inspired by the ancient French technique from Bordeaux and Burgundy called “Les Quatre Façons”. A human intervention that respects and values the natural wealth of the Térroir, enhancing the expression of its character in the production of exceptional red and white wines.
The property's brand – Dom Bella – is inspired by an enigmatic and curious Lord who, in recent times, was surprised and fascinated by the potential of this magnificent Térroir and, with the passion and determination that characterize him, decided to embrace the challenge of producing the best wines from the region. A brand developed around unusual imagery, with a touch of irreverence, that provokes and challenges us to discover complex and surprising flavors.
