Uvas da serra de São Mamede (2,2 ha) com 70 anos de idade e inúmeras castas. Metade o mosto fermenta em inox e o restante em barricas de 500 litros novas e usadas. Muito fino no aroma, a fruta é delicada, tem boa complexidade. A frescura da boca é depois envolvida pelas notas da madeira. Mostra-se muito bem no conjunto.
Vindima manual, com uma seleção criteriosa de cachos. A fermentação ocorreu em barricas novas de carvalho francês, à qual se seguiu um estágio de 6 meses sobre borras finas de modo a obter um vinho fresco aliado a uma boa untuosidade e estrutura.

Adega Mayor is the result of the vision of Commander Rui Nabeiro and his great passion for wines and his land – Campo Maior.
From the hand of the prestigious architect Siza Vieira came the unmistakable design of this distinct, contemporary and soulful winery. Opened in 2007 but producing wines since 2002, Adega Mayor has 65 hectares of vineyards spread across two estates that give rise to the Monte Mayor, Touriga Nacional, Reserva do Comendador and Garrafeira do Comendador brands.
Winemaker Paulo Laureano and a dedicated team are responsible for designing these nectars with a strong personality, where all the tradition and sophistication of an undiscovered Alentejo is revealed.
On the plains of Campo Maior, vineyards grow, giving rise to wines with a fresh and striking character. It was on this undulating Alentejo coast that Architect Siza Vieira designed the unmistakable design of this winery. This is how the landscape is designed, this is how the wines that make this Adega Mayor are dreamed of.
