Seven national wine producers came together to respond to the Amália Rodrigues Foundation's challenge and produce a wine commemorating the centenary of the artist's birth. The revenue obtained from Amálias 100 wine goes to the Amália Rodrigues Foundation.
“With the purpose of creating something unique – bigger than a brand or region, the idea was born of conceiving a wine that represented the country and that immortalized the fado singer in the collective memory – the regions that best highlight Portugal in the quality of red wines were selected, such as the Douro, the Dão, the upper and lower Alentejo and Lisbon”, says in a press release.
In a “pioneering initiative that aims to give voice to the immensity of Amália”, Rita Nabeiro (from Adega Mayor), Francisca Van Zeller (Van Zellers & Co), Maria Manuel Maia (Poças), Luísa Amorim (Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora) joined forces. do Carmo), Rita Pinto (Quinta do Pinto), Mafalda Guedes (Sogrape) and Catarina Vieira (Herdade do Rocim) to produce a “unique” wine.
This wine is accompanied by a box in a limited edition of 1,920 Magnum bottles, bottled with the communion of will and the feeling of obligation of seven women who make wine their fado and from four regions: Douro, Dão, Alentejo and Lisbon.
