Achieving a wine to have a strong character, a distinct personality, is the dream of creating it as an expression of a terroir. Bafarela 17 is a bold venture, a part of the Douro, in the Torto river valley, where during the ripening of the grapes, the heat is suffocating and the lack of water is constant. Very low and super concentrated productions are the vine's response to these conditions. Man collects the fruit – the grape –, protects it and transforms it into a wine that sums up the expression of the land. This is how Bafarela 17 was born.
