Description
It all started here in 1818, when Nicolas François Billecart and Elisabeth Salmon got married, marking the creation of their Champagne House. This has been a family story from the beginning, with Louis Salmon, Elisabeth's brother and passionate winemaker, becoming involved in creating the wines.
Thus, over 7 generations, each family member has strived to continue the family tradition, remaining faithful to the same motto: “Prioritize quality, seek excellence”.
Maison Billecart-Salmon's champagnes are created, above all, thanks to the knowledge of the men who rigorously cultivate a 100-hectare property, obtaining grapes from a total area of 300 hectares in 40 crus in the Champagne region.
Most of the grapes used for winemaking come from a 20km radius around Epernay, where the Grand Crus of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay coexist, in the ethereal vineyards of the Montagne de Reims, in the Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs.
