Description
A Dalmore heritage dates back to 1263. It was in this year that Colin de Kintail, chief of the Mackenzie clan, saved the king Alexander III from the fury of a deer that carried him. In recognition of this noble act, the king granted the Mackenzie clan the right to use the 12 Royal stag emblem on their coat of arms.
When the descendants of the Clan became owners of the distillery at The Dalmore in 1867, the Royal Stag has become the recognizable icon that proudly adorns every bottle of The Dalmore today; an emblem that encapsulates a rich past while embodying the promise that the Dalmore will remain at the pinnacle of single malt.
