Description

It was in 2004 that the first ODISSEIA wines were produced. But Jean-Hugues Gros had already been working in the Douro since 1999.

He found wine potential in this region that allowed him to develop a diversity of terroir, elegant and versatile wines.

After completing the oenology course and several internships in Burgundy in 1992, Jean-Hugues Gros had the unique opportunity to spend 16 months at Sandeman, in Porto. And that was how the discovery of Port wines, the enchanting Douro region and its wines began.

After some more experiences in California and Champagne, the definitive return was in 1999 to work at Quinta do Convento de São Pedro das Águias, a small Port wine company located next to the Távora river, near Tabuaço. Today, Jean-Hugues is a producer and also a winemaking consultant for several Quintas do Douro.
