Description

Herdade do Rocim is a property located between Vidigueira and Cuba, in Baixo Alentejo.

Starting with operations in the area of agricultural mechanization in the 1970s, investment in diversified and complementary sectors is a reference in Movicortes' journey. The equipment business (public works, agriculture and automobiles) was later joined by social communications, books and wine production, with Rocim.

Investment in the wine sector began in 2000 with Herdade do Rocim. A property with around 120 hectares, of which 70 are vineyards, between Vidigueira and Cuba, in Baixo Alentejo. A new adventure and a dream began.

The first years were dedicated to restructuring and qualifying the estate, with the planting of new vines and the introduction of new grape varieties, in a project that mixed new and old knowledge, with reason and emotion, supported by the love of father and daughter.
Then came the construction of the wine cellar and the production of wine, with its own brands.

Also in Cortes (Leiria), the birthplace of José Ribeiro Vieira, founder of the company, Rocim began planting vineyards in 2003 with a view to recovering the brand image of this parish and also the family tradition in the wine sector, with the launch of Vale da Mata.

Today, Rocim is already recognized for the quality of its wines and the winery. Talking about your story is talking about the dream and therefore it is also talking about the present and the future. Because the dream has no end.

“Talking about the future is not easy because you cannot guess. In any case, we believe that the foundations and structures capable of encouraging us to continue have been laid.” José Ribeiro Vieira.
