Real Companhia Velha was founded on September 10, 1756 by Royal Charter of King D. José I, under the auspices of its Prime Minister, Sebastião José de Carvalho e Melo, Count of Oeiras and Marquês de Pombal and since then it has been faithful to its ancient traditions, offering the best Port Wines.

The Company owns some of the best Quintas in the Douro, located in the best areas of the Region. White Ports originate from Quinta do Casal da Granja where the cool climate is perfect for the production of white grapes. Red Ports are produced from plots planted in Quinta das Carvalhas, Aciprestes and Síbio. The Old Vineyards located at Quinta das Carvalhas are the origin of our Premium Ports such as Vintages and Colheitas.
