Produced with 100% of Touriga Franca grapes, Quinta do Crasto Touriga Franca is a monovarietal wine from the premium only bottled in years in which the harvest reaches a high level of quality and excellence.
It is unusual to find a 100% Touriga Franca monovarietal wine, however, it is a very representative variety of the Douro, well adapted to the region from a viticultural point of view and very interesting from an oenological point of view. It is a grape variety that presents homogeneous productions and has the great virtue of presenting low levels of alcohol in a hot region such as the Douro.
Despite these positive characteristics, Touriga Franca is a challenging variety as it only expresses its true potential when it reaches perfect phenolic maturity. Quinta do Crasto Touriga Franca is therefore a late-ripening wine, that is, the grapes of the variety require a long time to reach correct and perfect maturation. To achieve this, the grape variety needs to find its balance, which only happens in a terroir that respects the conditions it requires to become a truly exceptional wine.
Quinta do Crasto Touriga Franca has a deep violet color. On the nose, it impresses with its intensity and concentration of red fruit aromas in perfect harmony with soft floral notes. In the mouth, it starts intensely, evolving into a wine with an elegant profile, with excellent volume in the mouth and tannins with a silky texture, all very well integrated with notes of red fruits. It ends in perfect balance, with extraordinary persistence and full of freshness. A wine that perfectly reflects the identity of the grape variety.
Lançado pela primeira vez em 2019, com a colheita de 2016, o Quinta do Crasto Touriga Franca é o terceiro vinho monovarietal produzido pela Quinta do Crasto, depois do Quinta do Crasto Tinta Roriz e do Quinta do Crasto Touriga Nacional, vindo assim aumentar a gama de vinhos monovarietais disponibilizados pela Quinta do Crasto.
