Description
Caminhos Cruzados was created by the initiative and will of the Santos family, born in Nelas, determined to return to their origins to invest in an old passion, Dão wine. Thus, a family company was born in 2012, run by Lígia Santos, who exchanged Lisbon and law for wine and headed to Nelas to direct the project's fate. Its wines are made from grapes produced in-house and from selected producers, recognized for their quality and grape variety excellence, all in the Dão region.
The company's philosophy is based on the production of quality wines, with an aspect of tradition combined with modernism and constant differentiation that the market demands, it is in this context that Caminhos Cruzados wines emerge as “O Novo Dão?.
The name comes from the family thought that life does not always follow straight paths and that, on the contrary, there are more atypical paths that take us to incredible places. The motto is that every time two paths cross, something fantastic can happen, as currently happens with family members, with different backgrounds and experiences, whose paths cross in the project.
In 2015, Caminhos Cruzados was distinguished as “Breakthrough Producer 2015? by Revista de Vinhos, providing yet another motivation to continue producing unique wines.
The company (vineyards and winery) is located in the Dão area, more specifically in Nelas. In 2017, the new winery was inaugurated, with bold architecture and emerging from the Quinta da Teixuga vineyards. The Winery is inspired by the company logo, two lines that intersect and is perfectly integrated into the environment. It is aware of aesthetics and also sustainability and allows the practice of wine tourism.
