Description

Quinta da Mata Fidalga is a Portuguese company located in the Bairrada region dedicated to the production of high quality wines and sparkling wines.
With ancient traditions of vineyard cultivation, dating back to the 12th century, the Bairrada region produces its wines and sparkling wines based on native grapes.

The name “Bairrada” derives from the nature of the region in terms of soil: clay. It was in the mid-80s that wine production began to have real expression as a result of the passion, determination and entrepreneurship of its founders, Mr. Fabiano Santos and Mr. Augusto Virgílio de Sousa. We named our wines as “Quinta da Mata Fidalga – QMF”, because the Quinta is located in parts of the vineyards that give rise to our wines, in the place where there was a luxurious forest, widely used by the nobility of the time, as a leisure area and fun.
The passion and professionalism that we put into the production of our wines allows us to be one of the main producers in the Region, in which we have won more than 30 awards in the editions of the best Bairrada wines ever held. Our philosophy is guided by constant work with our partners and customers, in order to promote and reinforce our brand over time, always in search of perfection and in the name of sustained growth.
Our range of wines includes mature wines (red, white and rosé), mature reserves (premium red and premium white), in addition to our sparkling wines that have unique characteristics, due to the minimum time spent in the cellar. Our entry range of sparkling wines starts with raw white, rosé buto and raw red, with a minimum aging time of 12 months. As a premium range, we have a personal reserve and our top is Virgílio de Sousa, with a minimum internship of three years. Visiting Quinta da Mata Fidalga, you can also learn about our wine tourism, which is based on the possibility of visiting the winery, as well as our vineyards, associating the history of each wine with the existing varieties.
