Description

For 350 years, Warre's has been a pioneer in the Port wine trade, from winery advancements to viticultural research. It was one of the first Port wine houses to build an inn in Vila Nova de Gaia in the 18th century, where – even today – its wines age undisturbed until the moment of bottling.
This pioneering spirit, combined with a deep respect for heritage and tradition, forms a unique combination that places Warre's firmly at the center of the history of the Port trade as it celebrates its 350th anniversary.

Warre's is synonymous with the history of the English in Porto. Not only did William Warre serve as British Consul in Porto, but his famous descendant (another William Warre) fought as an officer in the Peninsular War against Napoleon under the command of the Duke of Wellington, whom he also kept supplied with Port Wine. The Symington family, 5th generation Port wine producers, have run Warre's for over 100 years and continue to drive it forward today.
