Description

Located on the left bank of the River Torto, in the Municipality of São João da Pesqueira, Quinta do Soque is a property with around 20 hectares, of which 17 are occupied by vineyards.
With a privileged location in the Douro Demarcated Region, Quinta do Soque has belonged to the Vicente family for over 20 years. The name of Soque comes from the transitive verb to knead/spalmar/squeeze/tread and the origin of the Quinta, like that of many great Quintas in the Douro, dates back to distant times.

In the last 20 years, Quinta do Soque has however undergone a revolution: investments carried out in the modernization of the vineyards, as well as in the construction of a wine cellar, equipped with the most modern equipment, ensure the production of high quality table wines. .

Quinta do Soque only produces red wines, in three categories: Harvest, Reserve and Old Vines. Between 1990 and 1996, with the exception of 1.5 hectares of old vines, now with an average age of approximately 70 years, Quinta do Soque's vineyards were renovated with
the most noble and emblematic grape varieties of the region and the country: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca.
The completion of all investments, associated with the passion that goes into making the wines, led to Quinta do Soque's recognition in the wine markets, in Portugal and abroad.

February 2011, British journalist Jancis Robinson, a wine critic who has great influence worldwide, chose Quinta do Soque Vinha wines Velhas 2007 as one of the six Portuguese red wines that are “worth trying”.
