Adega Mayor is the result of the vision of Commander Rui Nabeiro and his great passion for wines and his land - Campo Maior.
The unmistakable design of this distinctive, contemporary, and soulful winery came from the hands of the prestigious architect Siza Vieira. Inaugurated in 2007 but producing wines since 2002, Adega Mayor owns 65 hectares of vineyards spread across two estates that give rise to the Monte Mayor, Touriga Nacional, Reserva do Comendador, and Garrafeira do Comendador brands.
Winemaker Paulo Laureano and a dedicated team are responsible for crafting these nectars with a distinctive personality, revealing all the tradition and sophistication of an Alentejo region waiting to be discovered.
In the plains of Campo Maior, vineyards grow that give rise to wines of a fresh and distinctive character. It was on this rolling Alentejo coast that architect Siza Vieira designed the unmistakable layout of this winery. Thus the landscape is shaped, thus the wines that make this a truly great winery are envisioned.
