Caves Primavera was founded in 1944 by two brothers, Lucénio and Vital de Almeida. The company began as Vinícola Primavera (Spring Winery), named Vinícola precisely because it lacked a basement, and its first facilities were in the center of the village of Aguada de Baixo, approximately 800 meters from our current facilities. Caves Primavera was only possible due to the effort, dedication, and work of two great men, the brothers Lucénio and Vital de Almeida. Our founders began their activity at a young age. Lucénio and Vital de Almeida were serious, confident men, with enormous dedication, and they made a very strong team. Always motivated by their dream, they managed to make the name Primavera associated with something more than just the season. They were good men, unique, humble, benefactors of the region, who will never be forgotten. Two men, Lucénio and Vital Rodrigues de Almeida, were and always will be the main people responsible for the success of Caves Primavera. They were the ones who took flight and started a new cycle in the world of wine, giving a new dimension to the expression "here comes Spring".
