CACHAÇA GERMANA CAETANO'S
The history of this cachaça begins in 1912 in José de Melo, now Nova União, Minas Gerais, when its founder, Sergio Caetano, started producing it in the small still on the farm for his own consumption, as his parents did.
The brand GERMANA was inspired by a nun of the same name, who attracted numerous pilgrims to the Sanctuary of Serra da Piedade, in the city of Caeté, at the beginning of the 19th century, who went in search of cures with remedies based on cachaça and herbs.
Handcrafted in copper stills, GERMANA can be found in five versions depending on its storage location, aging time, and the types of wood used.
GERMANA CAETANO'S spends a year in umburana wood barrels, a process that imparts a smooth, yet very sweet aroma and flavor, unique to this wood and very different from cachaças aged in oak.
