CARM is a strictly family-owned company, with the family that founded it having documented activity since the mid-17th century. Agricultural activity has always been centered in the region where the Douro River begins its course exclusively within Portuguese territory, which is also the starting point of the oldest demarcated wine region in the world – the Douro and Port Wine Demarcated Region.
Our goal has always been to produce high-quality olive oils and wines, solely from olives and grapes from our estates, approximately 60 hectares of peanut groves, 220 hectares of olive groves, and 200 hectares of vineyards located around the village of Almendra, in the most prestigious area of the Upper Douro, encompassed within the Côa Valley Archaeological Reserve.
