The history of the GOSSET family begins more than four centuries ago with the first official ancestor of the line, Jean GOSSET (1484-1556), “Seigneur d'Aÿ et de Mareuil“.
Sixteen generations in direct line, they will follow him in Champagne as councilors, mayors, lawyers, but especially in the culture of the vine and in the trade of Champagne wines.
Regardless of the era, these men and women have always had the sole ambition of elevating their terroir. The merger, at the end of the 20th century, with the Cointreau family and the birth of the CELEBRIS cuvées vintages will take Champagne GOSSET to the highest echelons of prestigious houses, both in France and abroad.
A passion that, from yesterday to today, has shaped the image and reputation of the oldest wine house in the region, whose name resonates today as a guarantee of excellence for all lovers of great wines and champagnes.
It was around 1760 that Jean Gosset first used what would become the emblem of Maison Gosset: the antique bottle.
This slender, rounded-sided, and extremely elegant bottle is a unique model that appeared in the family's collection of antique bottles. It owes its nickname to the "antique glass" color attributed to the glass paste used in its composition.
