DEAU COGNAC ... a family history ...

The story begins in 1685, during the reign of King Louis XIV, when Louis Deau settles as a winegrower in Charente and discovers the mythical alchemy of stills.

For several generations, the Bru Legaret family has owned and managed a wine estate in the heart of the Cognac region.

Today, Véronique Bru Legaret and her son Roland Legaret take the helm of the DEAU COGNAC brand, and are proud to introduce you to a universe where beauty, exceptionality, and uniqueness meet and can create absolute emotion, a revelation, a discovery.

Cognac DEAU is located in Sireuil (Charente, France), more precisely "Aux Moisans," in the heart of the Cognac region.

It is here, amidst the vineyards, overlooking the Charente region, that our distillery and its 12 copper stills are located, alongside the ancient cellars where the precious brandies of our Collection age in over 2,000 barrels.
At Sireuil, we are dedicated not only to creating exceptional cognacs, but also to the French art of living.

DEAU COGNAC draws inspiration from the balance between luxury and nature that characterizes and is reflected in the elegance of its range.

The “Griffon”, the family emblem, is the symbolic guardian of nature's treasures. Today it is the noble protector of our vineyards and the golden elixir kept in our cellars.

At Domaine des Moisans lies the distillery and its 12 copper stills, alongside the old cellars where the precious brandies in our collection age in over 2,000 barrels.

The only wood permitted is oak, whose soft tannins and ability to exchange with outside air allow the young eaux-de-vie to mature perfectly.
The Cognac barrel has a capacity of 350 L, from which evaporates the portion of the angels that will blacken the roofs and walls of the aging cellars.
