The adventure of Manuel da Costa Carvalho Lima & Filhos, Lda. began about 40 years ago in the small village of Várzea Cova, in Fafe, and it continues to operate here, with the aim of combating desertification and rural exodus and guaranteeing livelihoods for the population residing in this village and the surrounding area.
In 2005, aware of the ecological commitments, a wastewater treatment plant was built to treat the water and effluents.
In 2006, the company was awarded a Social Responsibility prize by the Ourense Business Confederation ( http://www.ceo.es/ ), at the 2nd edition of the Cross-Border Awards for Social Excellence.
In 2008, Braille was introduced on our wine labels with the intention of making communication accessible to the blind community.
The entire product journey is carried out with ecological awareness, recycling according to the guidelines of Sociedade Ponto Verde and extending the useful life of raw materials, reusing them whenever possible.
