Quinta da Ribeira is located in Meca, in the former medieval municipality of Montes de Alenquer, and is currently the headquarters of the Félix Rocha Agricultural Society. This farm began production in the mid-19th century on the initiative of Mr. Felix Rocha, grandfather of the current owners. Around 1925, vineyards were planted on an area of approximately 220 hectares distributed across several farms in the Alenquer area. From 1927 onwards, Quinta da Ribeira produced around 1750 liters of wine, from grapes of the traditional Portuguese varieties Tinta Miúda, Camarate, Castelão and Preto Martinho for reds, and Fernão Pires, Arinto, Rabo de Ovelha and Vital for whites. The fourth generation of the Félix Rocha family recognized the need for investment to improve production quality, investing, since 1991, in the complete restructuring of the vineyards and winery. Currently, it manages 60 hectares of vineyards spread across Quinta da Ribeira, Casal do Mato, and São Cristovão.
