Gordon's is a classic London Dry Gin, a premium gin with 37.5% alcohol content. It is obtained through a triple distillation of secret botanicals, although juniper, strawberries, citrus fruits, and some herbs and spices are noticeable in both flavor and aroma.
The recipe used to make Gordon's Gin dates back to 1769, when a Scottish landowner named Alexander Gordon created it and began using it in the distillery he founded in south London that same year.
Alexander called the gin that Gordon produced London Dry Gin, and since then, London Dry Gin has been used as the name for a certain type of gin made in the city of London.
Gordon's was exported to the English colonies and, thanks to that, today it is one of the best-known gins in the world.
