Nunes Barata is a wine project originating in Cabeção, in the municipality of Mora, in the Alto Alentejo region. This area, thanks to its exceptional terroir , has a distinct history in the production of high-quality wines, full of character, and was known for its famous amphora wines. Here, vineyards and wine have always been the main economic activity.
Brothers Luís Miguel and José Manuel represent the seventh generation of the Nunes Barata family, which has always had strong traditions in winemaking, thus continuing a family tradition that dates back to the beginning of the 19th century.
"Cabeção is a traditional place for the production of Alentejo wines. The particular conditions of the climate and soil, combined with well-adapted grape varieties, have led us to resume wine production, using advanced technology, where our grandparents have been doing so since 1836."
