The first ODISSEIA wines were produced in 2004. But Jean-Hugues Gros had already been working in the Douro region since 1999.
He found in this region a winemaking potential that allowed him to develop a diversity of terroir wines, elegant and versatile.
After completing his enology course and several internships in Burgundy in 1992, Jean-Hugues Gros had the unique opportunity to spend 16 months at Sandeman in Porto. And that's how his discovery of Port wines, the enchanting Douro region, and its wines began.
After further experiences in California and Champagne, he definitively returned in 1999 to work at Quinta do Convento de São Pedro das Águias, a small Port wine company located next to the Távora River, near Tabuaço. Today, Jean-Hugues is a producer and also a wine consultant for several Quintas in the Douro region.
