Poças is a Portuguese family-owned company that produces Port and DOC Douro wines. It is proudly in the hands of the namesake family who founded it over a century ago, and is therefore considered "the most Portuguese side of the Douro wine region's history".

Founded in 1918, the result of the hands and courage of Manoel Domingues Poças Júnior, who, over time, inspired his family with his knowledge and passion for the world of wine. Currently, Poças is managed by the 4th generation of the family: Maria Manuel Maia (responsible for the areas of Enology and Viticulture), Paulo Pintão (Production and Administration/Finance) and Pedro Poças Pintão (Commercial and Marketing).

The company headquarters are located in the historic center of Vila Nova de Gaia, where the Visitor Center, open to the public since 2016, is also located.

Currently, Poças has three estates, with a total area of ​​100 hectares (76 hectares of vineyards in production), each located in a different area of ​​the Douro Demarcated Region: Quinta das Quartas, which includes the winemaking center through which all wines pass (Baixo Corgo), Quinta de Santa Bárbara, with its prized old vines (Cima Corgo), and Quinta de Vale de Cavalos, next to the Ribeira de Teja and with the altitude and schist and granite soil that characterize it (Douro Superior).

With its spirits continually bolstered by the growing recognition of its achievements around the world, Poças moves forward with its eyes on the future, combining the knowledge of a century-old elder with the strength and audacity that runs through the younger generation.

The inspiration is, as it always has been, the unparalleled terroir of the Douro, and resilience is the family's middle name, which is why Poças is more than ready to live and celebrate another 100 years of life.
