Quinta da Côrte exemplifies the nobility of an undeniable history and an exceptional schist terroir. Its history dates back to the 19th century, with the first records of vineyard plantings dating from 1814. Plot 505 is one of the oldest from the post-phylloxera era, with over 100 mixed varieties. Historically linked to the production of Port wine, it began producing DOC Douro and Port wines under its own name when it became part of Philippe Austruy's wine estates in 2013. Today, Quinta da Côrte aligns with the Austruy wine philosophy and is part of the brotherhood of Commanderie de Peyrassol in Côtes de Provence, Château Malescasse, a "cru bourgeois" from the French region of Haut-Médoc, and Tenuta Casenuove in Tuscany.
In extreme conditions like those found in the Douro Valley, the vineyard demands constant monitoring. It requires even more attention because working in these vineyards is extremely difficult, and also due to the diversity of grape varieties, which doesn't allow for a single solution. It requires personalized work, every day.
