2013. This was the year that brothers Pedro and Nuno Ramilo, challenged by their father, decided to embrace a family tradition spanning four generations. They did so, but with one condition: that it be done their way. From that moment on, they would not be just another producer, with good wines like all the others.
Best known for its palaces and lush greenery, the region was once a summer retreat for kings and wealthy nobles of European royalty. Even today it is known for its beaches with their untamed climate and wild nature, as well as for the famous Ramisco and Malvasia de Colares wines, produced on the northern side of the Sintra mountain range.
It is in this setting that our grapes grow, scattered from the typical Colares region to the slopes of the Lizandro river valley, near Mafra, always with the Atlantic in sight and the Sintra mountains as a backdrop.
