The type of wood, the barrel making, new or first fillings containing the heritage of previous aging, and even the useful construction of the barrel warehouse, are all expressions of the unique style of our WOODWORK WHISKY. We dare say it is our very soul, the distinctive expression of the Woodwork series.

The formula is surprisingly simple; the best whisky is distilled by passionate and hardworking people with an uncompromising work ethic; using the finest batches of barley, and then refining it with high-performance casks and a perfect terroir for whisky maturation.

With a perfect climate for whisky maturation, our own deep source of Pure Limestone Water, and an exclusive range of wood, toasted and seasoned with the finest wines, we are invited to explore the unique characteristics of each barrel.

When it comes to the flavor profile of a VENAKKI WOODWORK WHISKEY, the barrel aging program can contribute up to 80% of the palate and 100% of its color; it's both magic and science, and we believe that combining the two is an art.

As Independent Distillers, we have the opportunity to create contemporary spirits while drawing inspiration from a time when things were done the best possible way; the right way.
Although it is an unusual provenance for whisky, we rely on our terroir and our long tradition of making and aging world-renowned wines, and of being the birthplace of some of the most sought-after barrels in the world when it comes to aging and maturation techniques.
The Atlantic influence and the warm temperate climate throughout the year; with hot days and cool nights (daily temperatures typically ranging from 15°C to 40°C / 60°F to 105°F) means that our whisky is extracted from the barrel with all the qualities for which we prepare it.
As pioneers of Portuguese whiskey, we explore the endless possibilities of our cooperage with our BESPOKE OAK CASK - naturally seasoned oak outdoors for up to 36 months, which can simultaneously combine American and European oak staves with different toastings for greater complexity.
Our Rare Portuguese Barrel, whose name announces its rarity and origin, previously contained fine wines such as Port, Madeira, Douro, Muscat of Alexandria or Brandy, to name a few, and they are the backbone of the unique expressions of our WOODWORK WHISKEY.
Bottled precisely at the right time, and not according to age, one by one by hand, we also offer our customers the possibility of single-barreled, reinforced malt whisky boats (privately owned), bottled to order.
