A Taylor’s foi pioneira na elaboração de um vinho do porto branco seco para aperitivo. O primeiro lote de Chip Dry fez-se em 1934 e, desde então, tem tido devotos seguidores por todo o mundo.

Chip Dry é feito a partir de uma selecção de vinhos do porto brancos secos, produzidos a partir de uvas cultivadas no Douro Superior (zona Este do Vale do Douro). Embora se utilizem diferentes variedades de uvas brancas, a casta Malvasia Fina é a que predomina.

Chip Dry é produzido utilizando o método tradicional de vinificação para os vinhos do porto, adicionando-se aguardente vínica ao mosto para parar a fermentação e preservar no vinho final algum açúcar natural da uva. No caso do Chip Dry, a aguardente adiciona-se mais tarde, quando a maioria do açúcar já se converteu em álcool, produzindo, assim, um porto de uma secura pouco comum.

Os vinhos individuais estagiam separadamente em tonéis de madeira de carvalho entre quatro e cinco anos, e são depois lotados, pouco antes de serem engarrafados, para dar equilíbrio e carácter.

Cor palha clara. Nariz delicado que combina fragrâncias de fruta fresca com aromas complexos e toques de carvalho característicos de um porto branco tradicional. Paladar fresco e vivo, com bom sabor e final seco e fresco.

For many, Taylor's is the most illustrious wine producing house in Port and drinking its wines constitutes the most sublime of experiences.

 

Created more than three centuries ago, in 1692, Taylor's is one of the oldest Port wine trading houses dedicated exclusively to the production of Port wine and, especially, its best styles.

Above all, Taylor's is an independent company in which some family members play leadership roles in all areas of activity. The company's long and uninterrupted family tradition has allowed it to provide continuity and clarity of mission, both essential attributes of any great Port wine house. It also allowed us to improve the skills and knowledge necessary to produce the best Ports, which are constantly refined in light of the experience that is passed from generation to generation.

Taylor's is also respected as a producer of wood-aged Port wines and holds one of the largest reserves of rare cask-aged wines, of which the distinctive aged Tawny Port wines stand out. The house is also known as the creator of LBV (Late Bottled Vintage), a style that the company pioneered and of which it continues to be the main producer.

Successive generations, with their experience, have strived to improve their knowledge and ability to produce increasingly better Port wines.

Based in Porto and the Douro region, the company is involved in all stages of the production of its Port wines, from planting the vineyard and growing the grapes to the elaboration, aging and bottling of wine batches.
