Built in the heart of the property, the Pessegueiro winery is distinguished by its extraordinary architecture, which results from the functions of the building and above all from the specific winemaking method it hosts.
The building has five levels and combines traditional methods of producing high quality wines with the most sophisticated equipment.
An authentic technology challenge, our winery was designed to use natural gravity throughout the entire process that transforms grapes into wine. In order to preserve and respect the wine as much as possible, the use of pumps was completely excluded throughout the entire route, from receiving the grapes to the barrel room. To complement natural gravity, we also have a lift tank.
This exclusively gravity process guarantees a gentle and respectful treatment of the wine.
All of our production is controlled by João Nicolau de Almeida and a multidisciplinary team of dedicated professionals.
