Founded in 1854 by descendants of the Duke of Lancaster, surrounded by cork oaks and eucalyptus trees from Australia, Herdade da Calada is nestled among the gentle hills of the Alentejo region. Over the years it has undergone several interventions and improvements, but it preserves the beauty and elegance of the original design of the main building and today is one of the most modern and innovative wine estates in Portugal, with a wine tourism unit, 35 hectares of vineyards, 110 hectares of olive groves, 60 hectares of cereals, 215 hectares of cork oak forest and magnificent accommodation.
