Venakki Distillery is a Portuguese company, created in 2012 by a small international team with big dreams of producing top-quality spirits and world-class whisky.

We began our production with unaged spirits, such as our “white whisky” – or moonshine , as we like to call it – under our irreverent brand Moonshine Limited . Shortly after, we ventured into the production of barrel-aged spirits, such as the Moonshine Single Cask , which received 93 points in the Whisky Bible , and our flagship product, Venakki Whisky Woodwork , the first Portuguese Single Malt Whisky . The first edition was launched in 2020 as a single cask , with barrel aging, and was awarded the Liquid Gold Award by Jim Murray's Whisky Bible .

In 2018, we launched our vodka and gin, specially developed for bartenders and mixologists, under the Venakki Mixology Collection. This was our contribution to the cocktail renaissance, offering superior quality drinks and specializing to meet the demands of a cosmopolitan and sophisticated clientele.

In 2024, we again received an impressive score of 96 points in the same publication for another piece under the Woodwork label.

Since then, we have continued, without haste, to explore the characteristics of our terroir and our privileged access to rare Portuguese barrels, to produce innovative spirits and our emblematic Single Malt Whisky , under the Venakki Whisky Woodwork brand, as well as vintage editions under the Venakki Whisky The Portuguese brand.

As with all Venakki releases, our whisky is bottled in very small quantities, only when it is ready, and never based on age or any other imposed criteria.
