In 2001, the first 10 hectares of vines were planted at Herdade de São Miguel. The following year, Nuno Franco, a viticulture and oenology consultant, joined the project and continued planting a further 25 hectares of vines.
In 2003, the Herdade de São Miguel winery was built with the capacity to vinify 500 tons of grapes. That same year, Fernanda Gomes joined the project.
In 2004, the first 26,000 bottles of Herdade de São Miguel Colheita Selecionada Tinto 2003 were released to the market.
2006 After training in viticulture in Bordeaux, Alexandre Relvas Jr. joins the company. A year later comes the first Herdade São Miguel wine, with over 90 points from Robert Parker.
In 2010, production doubled in two years from 500,000 bottles to 1 million bottles sold. The following year, the Herdade da Pimenta estate was acquired, with 65 hectares of vineyards and a winery capable of processing 2.5 million tons of grapes.
In 2016, António Relvas, a business management graduate, joined the team and began developing the olive grove project. The following year, the Vinha dos Pisões and Monte do Poço vineyards were acquired, and the first olive groves were planted. (10 wines scored above 90 Parker points)
