Quinta de S. Luiz is strategically located for the production of our wines. In the heart of the Cima Corgo sub-region, very close to Pinhão, this historic Quinta is a landmark in the Douro and it is precisely here that we have decided to centralize our activity in the region. The São Luiz Boutique Winery is now equipped with the most modern winemaking technology, based on integrated and sustainable production.
Innovation combined with traditional methods has allowed the land to evolve and maintain its character, despite various changes over the years. The construction of the Bagaúste Dam and the resulting rise in water levels caused part of the original area of the S. Luiz Farm to become submerged.
The solution involved acquiring contiguous properties, such as Quinta da Mesquita (1972), Quinta da Lobata (1974), Quinta da Alegria (1982) and Quinta da Galeira (1987). The estate now comprises 125 hectares, with 90 planted with vines, including old vines that produce fruit for our premium wines.
