Mythology tells that Medusa was an absolutely irresistible being, carrying within her the curse of turning to stone anyone who looked her in the eyes. The curse only ceased when a fisherman used a mirror which, reflecting his own image, also turned her to stone, allowing her destruction. Legend also says that the elixir of eternal life sprang from one of her veins. As mythology is a recreation of life itself, Cave Central da Bairrada created the Medusa Bairrada DOC wine brand. This brand was born with the intention of creating mythical wines from the Bairrada region, which will endure through time and in memories.
In 2019, the brand launched with Medusa red wine, Medusa white wine, and Medusa rosé. Months later, Medusa Reserva white and red wines and Medusa Grande Reserva red wine were also released.
