Quinta da Costa has been in the family for 6 generations. It is located next to the Pinhão River in the heart of the Cima Corgo sub-region of the Douro Demarcated Region. The vineyards are situated at altitudes ranging from 200 to 450 meters, with southeast, south and southwest exposure, and have the highest classification in the Demarcated Region, grade A.
It has always been a benchmark estate in the Douro, producing Port wines for the major Port wine houses, frequently including their Vintage Ports. In the seventies and eighties, the producer's grandfather dedicated himself to the reconversion of the vineyard, expanding the area and mechanizing the vineyard. He decided to keep about 3 hectares of old vines, in memory of his ancestors. It is with these old vines that they produce their best wines today.
In 2006, after a division of assets, the farm passed into the hands of the current producer, who has since dedicated himself to producing the best grapes and, inevitably, the best wine. Believing in respecting tradition and differentiating through quality, they invited the winemaker Luís Seabra to help them produce the wines of Quinta da Costa do Pinhão.
