Quinta do Gravançal was born from an entrepreneurial dream that the father, Armindo Manuel Rodrigues, intended to develop in the late 1980s.

Among his many friends, he sought information about the climate, the grape varieties, the exposure… And among the available lands, he chose this location, between the lands of Abelheira and Gravançal. Exposed in an “abicheiro” style, as they say, facing north – predominantly – but also east and west, protecting and enhancing, in harmony, the vitality and longevity of the vineyards for the production of grapes of the highest quality.

Classified as letter A, in an area with altitudes exceeding 150m, three red grape varieties were favored: Touriga Francesa, Tinta Roriz, and Tinta Barroca, to which we have since added Touriga Nacional. Among the white grape varieties, Rabigato, Viosinho, and Malvasia-fina predominate.

He got the terroir right, resulting in more than 25 successful harvests.

With the achievement of "vinicultural maturity," we are now taking the step so that this long-held dream, which we have transformed into a company called Quinta do Gravançal, can now produce its own table wines under its own brand – Mimu's.

And why Mimu's? Because that's how this project was created. With a lot of love, dedication, sharing, and mutual help from family and friends.

The lettering is inspired by the mother's extraordinary handwriting, which, with its rhythmic and harmonious movement, evokes the hills and valleys of the Upper Douro.
