Located on the left bank of the Torto River, in the municipality of São João da Pesqueira, Quinta do Soque is a property of approximately 20 hectares, of which 17 are occupied by vineyards.
With a privileged location in the Douro Demarcated Region, Quinta do Soque has belonged to the Vicente family for over 20 years. The name Soque comes from the transitive verb to knead/flatten/tighten/tread, and the origin of the Quinta, like that of many great Quintas in the Douro, dates back to ancient times.

Over the last 20 years, however, Quinta do Soque has undergone a revolution: investments in modernizing the vineyards, as well as in building a winery equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, ensure the production of high-quality table wines.

Quinta do Soque produces exclusively red wines in three categories: Colheita (Vintage), Reserva (Reserve), and Vinhas Velhas (Old Vines). The noblest and most emblematic grape varieties of the region and the country: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca.
The realization of all investments, combined with the passion put into winemaking, has led to the recognition of Quinta do Soque in wine markets, both in Portugal and abroad.

In February 2011, British journalist Jancis Robinson, a highly influential wine critic worldwide, selected Quinta do Soque Vinhas Velhas 2007 as one of the six Portuguese red wines that are "worth trying".
