Magnum Vinhos was founded by three people who have long been involved in the world of wine. Although their initial paths differed, Carlos Lucas and Carlos Rodrigues have been making wine together since 1996, with Lúcia Freitas joining the group in 2005. Their enduring history takes them back to Dão Sul, one of Portugal's largest wine companies, where they were the winemaking team from the project's inception, led by Carlos Lucas. There, they were responsible for producing white, red, rosé, and sparkling wines from the country's most prestigious regions (Dão, Douro, Alentejo, Bairrada, Lisboa, and Vinho Verde). Among all the wines produced, the Quinta das Tecedeiras, Quinta do Encontro, Quinta de Cabriz, and Casa de Santar brands stand out. In addition to Portuguese wines, they were also responsible for winemaking in Brazil, at the renowned Rio Sol winery. Those 20 years were marked by achievements, creation, and innovation.

In 2011, they decided to embrace a new project. Taking over Quinta do Ribeiro Santo, owned by Carlos Lucas, located in the Dão region, and Baton wines, owned by Lúcia Freitas, from the Douro, they laid the foundations for Magnum Vinhos. They also added a Quinta in Alentejo, in Mora, to their portfolio. With the construction of a new winery in Dão and excellent acceptance of their wines in the national and international market, as well as by the press, in 2014 they won the highest distinction in agriculture: the Farmer of the Year award, given by the Portuguese Ministry of Agriculture. This is a project that combines the experience, knowledge and irreverence of these 3 winemakers, with the intention of showcasing the best of each of the regions where they work, through wines that respect the terroir, tradition and Portuguese grape varieties.

Each bottle produced tells a story. Each wine reflects the passion, work, emotions, and dedication put into it, thus explaining the company's motto, "Wine & People".
