A pioneer in the creation of Alvarinho wine in Melgaço, and an international benchmark for wines of this grape variety, Soalheiro is perfectly integrated into the typically Minho landscape that surrounds it. In the seventies (1974), a passion for viticulture led João António Cerdeira, with the support of his father, António Esteves Ferreira, to plant the first Alvarinho vineyard and create in 1982 the first Alvarinho brand in Melgaço and one of the first Alvarinho brands in the Monção and Melgaço sub-region.
