The legend begins in 1942, when young Don Julio González saw a unique opportunity in tequila production. He didn't have many possessions, but he had a dream and the singular dedication needed to make it a reality.
After sharing his vision with a local businessman, he secured a loan to open his first tequila distillery, La Primavera, in the highlands of Jalisco.
For the next forty years, Don Julio González dedicated his life to producing the best tequila in the world. Every day, I would wake up early to walk through the agave fields, cutting the grass around each plant to protect it. With a coa in hand, I would extract the flavor from each piña, masterfully balancing the bitterness and sweetness of each agave leaf. And when harvest time came, I would pick each plant individually, selecting only the agaves at their ideal point of ripeness and health.
